Getting a Library Card in Person
Any resident of Kenosha, Racine, Rock and Walworth Counties may apply for a library card. Children 17 years old or younger need permission from a parent or guardian to receive a card.
- Pick up a Community Library card application at the Salem or Twin Lakes branch or print one here.
- Present a picture ID with your current address. If your ID doesn’t have your current address you may present it along with one (1) of the following items: checkbook, utility bill, rent receipt, current postmarked mail, magazine subscription or school report card.
New library cards are provided at no cost, however, there is a $1 charge for a replacement card.
Getting a Library Card Online
You are registering for a library card within the SHARE Library consortium. Your temporary ID will allow you to place holds on library materials. This ID will expire in 30 days.
- To obtain an online card, fill out the online form.
- To obtain your permanent library card, visit your local library within Kenosha, Racine, Rock or Walworth county, present a picture ID with your current address. If your ID doesn’t have your current address you may present it along with one (1) of the following items: checkbook, utility bill, rent receipt, current postmarked mail, magazine subscription or school report card.
