Display: Virtual Museum of Geology's Traveling Display 

The Virtual Museum of Geology's Traveling Display consists of a selection of geological specimens representing the wonders of the natural world. The display, which has been traveling for over 7 years, gives viewers a further understanding of mineral varieties and the creation of fossils. It also inspires the hobby of geological collecting and introduces other geology topics.

Minerals, Fossils & Crystals
All ages

Join geologist and paleontologist Jason Rehorst of the Virtual Museum of Geology for a program about minerals, fossils, and crystals! During the course of the program, Mr. Rehorst will teach attendees how to build and maintain a rock collection, talk about the geological history of Wisconsin and what fossils can be found nearby, and explain how the Ice Age shaped the landscape of Wisconsin for thousands of years. Attendees will examine and handle various fossils and minerals.

Get ready to sweeten up your December with the Twin Lakes Library’s Cookie Swap! Bring your holiday spirit and four dozen homemade cookies. You’ll leave with a delightful assortment of cookies. Remember to bring a container for your cookies and don’t forget to email or drop off your recipe before December 1. We look forward to seeing you and sharing some holiday cheer! 

Rules

  •  Cookies should be homemade.
  •  Bring a total of four dozen cookies.
  •  Arrange your cookies in a basket or on a platter.
  •  Bring a large container to carry your cookies home.
  •  Email your cookie recipe to dbeck@communitylib.org or submit a copy at the Information Desk. This helps us create a cookie recipe booklet for everyone.
  •  Please register as soon as possible and specify your cookie type to ensure a variety of treats.
