Summer Reading ProgramSummer Reading Program | June 2 - August 2 The Summer Reading Program promotes literacy and a love of lifelong learning in children and teens, as well as, keeping up students’ reading skills over the summer. We also encourage adults to participate so that the whole family can experience all that the library has to offer. Plus, with it being summer, the program can just be good fun and provide an opportunity for family time. Join us this summer as we Color Our World with reading, activities and special events. Our goal as a community is to reach a collective 100,000 minutes read. In order to collect minutes, you need to log your reading time on our online reading tracker Beanstack or on paper logs if you prefer to log your reading that way. Paper logs will be available at the library. Youth Use our Bingo sheet to complete five activities in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally) to earn 1 grand prize entry. Complete the entire sheet, called a Blackout, to earn 3 grand prize entries. Return your completed Bingo sheet between July 1 - August 2 to receive your finishing prize. Youth are eligible for a finishing prize after recording at least 120 minutes using the Beanstack tracker. Adults Track your reading time using a paper log or on Beanstack. Reading books, magazines, newspapers or audiobooks will help us reach our goal. For every hour you read, you will receive a raffle ticket for our end of summer prize drawing. A maximum of 12 entries can be earned. |
