Obstacle Course
All Ages
 

Do your kids have boundless energy? They need to move their bodies! We’ll have an indoor obstacle course setup in the Children’s Area.

Readers Theater
Ages 6-11

Come and practice a variety of short skits with us. We will work in small groups to perform short plays, read lines with expression, gestures, theater volume and fluency. Memorization is not needed. Parents can attend the last 10 minutes of class to watch the performance.

Shaving Cream!
Ages 6-11

Shaving cream is not just for shaving; it’s awesome to play with too! Have fun using utensils, pool noodles, popsicle sticks and more to play in the shaving cream.

Paws to Read

Ages 6-11

Kids can build their reading confidence by reading to a therapy dog. Reading slots are 10 minutes and are on a first come, first served basis. Registration is not required.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Ages 6-11 

Ever wonder what happens at the library when it’s closed? Bring your stuffed animal friend to spend the night at the Salem Branch and you’ll find out! Pick them up on Friday morning to see what fun adventures and mischief they had and enjoy a light breakfast. One stuffed animal per child.

Study the works of Mexican painter Kahlo, known for her self portraits and depictions of Mexican life. Students will create their own personal mask using multimedia.
