Puzzlepalooza Jigsaw Puzzle Competition
All ages

 

Come out of the sun and find your inner “piece”! Check out a 60, 100, 260 or 500 piece puzzle at the Youth Desk, take it to a table and start the timer. The best time for an individual or two-person team, per puzzle, will win a prize at the end of the month. So, you say you can puzzle? Prove it!

We provide the LEGOs, you provide the creativity. Each month, we’ll have a LEGO challenge where your creations will be on display in the library. Please do not bring LEGOs from home.

Ukulele Jam with Ms. Kuhlow Music
Ages 8-Adult

Join us as Ms. Kuhlow teaches how to play the ukulele. Learn four or more chords, basic strum patterns and play a few top hits together. Special musical requests encouraged. Bring your own ukulele or some will be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bookmark Design Contest
Ages 6-Adult

Calling all creative minds! Celebrate the summer reading theme, Unearth a Story, with a bookmark design contest. Design a bookmark that celebrates your library card, books and reading.

Entry forms will be available at both branches and need to be submitted by Saturday, August 15. One entry per person. One winner will be selected from each age category: Kids (6-12), Teens (13-18), Adults (19+). Public voting will take place August 18-25 using an online form or in-person. The winning bookmarks will be on display and available for patrons to take home. Have fun and we can’t wait to see what you create!

Summer Reading Picnic with Dinosaur Dimensions!

Strutz Entertainment presents Dinosaur Dimensions featuring interactive dinosaur puppets and animatronics. Afterward, stay to play outdoor games and enjoy hot dogs as we celebrate the conclusion of our Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors.

Readers Theater
All ages

Come and practice reading aloud and perform a variety of short skits. Learn to read lines with expression, gestures, theater volume and fluency. Memorization is not required. Parents can attend the last 10 minutes to watch the performance.
