D&D for New and Experienced Players | Ages 12-Adult
Come and play Dungeons & Dragons. No worries if you don’t have experience, we’ll show you how to play. If you’re an experienced player, we’ll make sure things are exciting for you as well. All necessary information and materials to play like dice and character sheets are provided (although feel free to bring your own). For those who want to come with a prepared character, we are currently at level 6 and use the standard array or point buy for your ability scores. Please stick to published 5.5/2024 rules and options.

Pages in the Park
Join Kenosha County Parks and Community Library at Fox River Park for an outdoor reading experience. Bring your book, relax in the park, and enjoy a peaceful evening of quiet reading surrounded by nature. No assigned reading, just a chance to unwind and read alongside fellow book lovers. Memory Screening with Kenosha County Aging and Disability Resource Center
Receive a 30 minute free memory screening, provided by Kenosha County ADRC Dementia Care Specialist, Alex Troupis. Memory screens can provide relief for individuals concerned about normal memory loss, lead to diagnosis of treatable conditions, and offer the ability to make lifestyle changes early when they have the greatest potential for positive effect and the opportunity to participate in making future decisions. Screening results are not a diagnosis. Individuals who have concerns are encouraged to pursue a full medical exam.

Planning AHEAD with University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension
Learn why it's important to have an end-of-life plan and how you can create this plan for yourself or a loved one. Through seven sessions, this course covers topics like financial changes, advance medical and legal directives, estate planning, grief, and more. The Great Pumpkin Contest!
Bring your favorite storybook characters to life by joining our Great Pumpkin Contest! Pick a beloved book character, decorate a pumpkin to match, and show off your literary creativity. Decorated pumpkins may be dropped off at the Salem branch the week of October 12. Public voting will take place during the week of October 19, and winners will be announced on October 26. Pumpkins will be on display October 19-31. If you would like your pumpkin back, please pick it up no later than November 4, otherwise it will be discarded. 

RULES

· Decorate a real or fake pumpkin.
· Pumpkin size should be small to medium. No giant pumpkins.
· Decorate your pumpkin to look like a book character.
· Use permanent markers, acrylic paint, yarn, paper, fabric, tape, etc. and attach with paste, glue or tape (no pins).
· NO CARVED PUMPKINS. Pumpkins with carvings or holes through the rind will not be accepted.
· Do not write your name on your pumpkin.
· Pumpkins must have a completed entry form.
· One entry per person.
· All pumpkins should be family-friendly, they will be on display.

Get ready for holiday crafting and refresh your supplies at our Craft Supply Swap. Donate your craft supplies in usable condition, then visit the swap to pick up new supplies. Please do not donate unusable or opened paint items.  

Donate items between October 19-30 at either library branch and receive an early bird ticket to return Saturday, October 31 at 9:30am to get first dibs. Open to the public at 10am.
