Mission Statement

The mission of the Friends of Community Library is to build a strong membership of enthusiastic Friends dedicated to furthering the purposes of the library and to supplement what cannot be provided by the Library’s budget with funds, materials, equipment and services.

If you are interested, please submit a brief letter of intent with some personal background and interests and send to focl.salemlakes.twinlakes@gmail.com

Program Support
Historical figures, live animals and art projects are just some of the programs and activities offered by Community Library for the children and young people that live within the areas that the Salem and Twin Lakes branches serve.

The Friends of Community Library conducts book sales, media sales and other fundraisers to financially support these programs. Every year the Friends contribute $5,000 to make sure the library can find exciting, enlightening and entertaining people to stir the interest of our youth.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering at the library can be fun and rewarding. Many of the tasks require little or no special training and can be accomplished in 2 hours a week or 1 day a month. Other tasks can be shared by several volunteers on a rotating basis.

The following is a list of some of the tasks available; feel free to make other suggestions of special ways you can help.

Book sale help (sorting and shelving materials, and help with the book sale) and assemble mailings.
